Our heartfelt congratulations for well-deserved success to three Projects from the South Caucasus, that were shortlisted and awarded (the 2nd and 3rd prises) at the Mountain Innovation Fair 2023, in Bolzano, Italy. Their efforts and novel approaches to sustainable development and promotion of tourism, folklore and culinary heritage of remote mountain areas render positive impact on the Caucasus region.The marked projects are:
- I was a plastic bottle (second highest score), presented by Irina Mkrtchyan. Funded by ISSD – Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Development of Comminities;
- Creative mountains: Innovative promotion of rural mountain areas of Armenia, Georgia and Slovakia (third highest score), presented by Svetlana Belova. Funded by Association for nature conservation Machaon International, NABU Armenia and LAG Kazbegi;
- Horticulture market development in Armenia (shortlisted among 8 projects), presented by Naira Vardanyan, Aram Arakelyan, and Beka Urushadze. Funded by HEKS/EPER Swiss Church Aid.
