On December 11, 2015 Outlook on Climate Change Adaptation in the South Caucasus Mountains was published. The Outlook on Climate Change Adaptation in the South Caucasus Mountains was presented on international mountain day at a roundtable hosted by the Government of Peru and co-organized by UNEP and GRID-Arendals as well as other partners at COP21 in Paris. The development of this publication has been supported by the United Nations Environment Program in the context of its inter-regional project “Climate change action in developing countries with fragile mountainous ecosystems from a sub-regional perspective” that was financially co-supported by the Government of Austria. The publication builds on main findings and results available through conducted projects, activities and based on information that is available such as respective national communications by countries to UNFCCC and peer reviewed literature. It is based on review of existing literature and not based on new scientific results generated through the project.
The core objective of this project is to promote regional understanding and foster joint dialogue on mountain ecosystems in the context of climate change and adaptation as well as foster further inter-regional exchange of experience and best-practice at the global level.
The Caucasus Network for Sustainable Development of Mountain Regions was one of the partners and co-editors of the report. The Outlook on Climate Change Adaptation in the South Caucasus Mountains can be found here.
