On November 02, 2024, the second edition of the Caucasus Environment Outlook (CEO-2) was formally released and presented at the online webinar.
The publication is a comprehensive, science-based report focusing on the environmental landscape of the Caucasus region, covering Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. Produced by a coalition of experts in environmental science, policy, and regional studies, the CEO publication aims to serve as both a reference and a call to action, addressing the unique ecological, social, and economic contexts of the Caucasus.
The CEO-2 is organized into several key sections, each dedicated to crucial environmental domains. It details the observed and projected effects of climate change on ecosystems, agriculture, water resources, and human health within the Caucasus region; provides examples of adaptive measures that have been implemented or are proposed to mitigate climate impacts, with a focus on building resilience in rural and urban communities; encourages multi-stakeholder partnerships across borders to address transboundary environmental issues, build resilience, and foster sustainable development in the Caucasus region.
The CEO-2 publication is designed to serve as a vital tool for decision-makers, researchers, NGOs, and community leaders, providing evidence-based guidance and fostering a unified approach to address environmental challenges and promote a sustainable future for the Caucasus.
