On the 29th of November, 2021 the fourth online meeting of the National Initiative Group of Georgia (NIG Georgia) took place. The meeting was attended by the representatives of the scientific, non-governmental, and private sectors.
The purpose of the meeting was to present the main work and activities carried out in the field of advocacy and cooperation after the third meeting of the National Initiative Group and revision of the policy brief developed by the Sustainable Caucasus on the necessity of introducing sustainable pasture management in Georgia, in particular, discussed the remarks and recommendations presented by the members of the initiative group and reflected in the document. Supporters of this policy brief will continue to work on the document and will participate actively in the advocacy process of this topic.
The last part of the meeting was devoted to the selection of the topics of the following analytical reference and it was agreed that it will be related to cultural heritage and tourism influence and discussed the strategy how the group members will be working on the document.
The members of the group reviewed future plans and tasks and approved the admission of ICOMOS Georgia as a new member of the Georgia Initiative Group.
The meeting was held in the framework of the project “Strengthening the Climate Adaptation Capacities in the South Caucasus” (SCAC) funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
