The Caucasus Network for Sustainable Development of Mountain Regions (Sustainable Caucasus) in cooperation with the United Nations Environment Programme are hosting the two-day Regional Project Meeting in the framework of the “Mountains ADAPT: Advancing Climate Action” in Gori, Georgia.
Representatives of relevant government agencies, ministries and mountain municipalities, as well as adaptation experts, civil society organisations and Covenant of Mayors from Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia are taking part in the event.
During the first day, the participants were consulted on developing and setting up a draft small grants funding scheme for mountain communities. To learn about climate change-induced geological processes, as well as local responses and adaptation measures, a field trip to the adaptation site in Ateni Gorge and the Uplistsikhe City Caves was organised.
