To mark the International Mountain Day in Georgia, the Sustainable Caucasus, with support of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, joined efforts with Ilia State University to host high school students, members of eco-clubs, and enhance their understanding and interest towards the climate crisis.
After a screening of a short movie about the Georgian Glaciers, co-produced by the UNDP Georgian and Eurones Georgia, the students had an opportunity to participate in the follow-up panel discussion with university professors and environmental experts. Representatives of the Protected Territories of Georgia and the Transcaucasian Trail and Caucasus Conservation Corps made presentations about their activities.
Finally, there was an award ceremony for the winners of the Essay Competition on Restoring Mountain Ecosystems. Also, photo exhibition of Georgian mountains wildlife and mountain produce was offered in the entrance hall.
