Young researchers, Master’s, and PhD students from seven countries worldwide, including Great Britain, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Iran, and Georgia, convened for an initiative spearheaded by the 3rd Caucasus Summer School. Their objective? Exploring the nuances of Natural Disaster Risk Management for Safe Tourism Development in Mountainous regions. Over seven days, participants engaged in both indoor and outdoor practical sessions at the Ozurgeti Techno Park in Guria. Topics of discussion ranged from the vulnerabilities inherent in environmental ramifications to their remedies. Central themes included natural disasters and their immediate and long-term consequences, methodologies for risk assessment and management, the pivotal role of community engagement, as well as the techniques of hazard mapping and monitoring. This collaborative effort aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the complexities surrounding safe tourism development in mountainous areas.
