On 6-7 June 2016 scientists from the Caucasus met at the workshop “Caucasus Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI)” in Tbilisi, Georgia.

The workshop was organized under Work Package 4 (Science, Policy and Practice Interface) of the SNSF-SDC SCOPES project “Sustainable Caucasus” and was hosted by the Ilia State University. The main goal of the workshop was to discuss the previous SDI initiatives, contribute to the task of Caucasus SDI feasibility study and enhance the dialogue between science and practitioners and policy makers. During the workshop experts from Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia had country presentations on previous SDI initiatives. The expert from the University of Geneva shared European experience with the workshop participants.
