The Sustainable Caucasus joined the Carpathian Convention hosted by the UN Environment Programme in Vienna to explore aspects of sustainable mountain development.

The Convention gathered partners to discuss the good practices and strategies for biodiversity conservation, restoration, and transboundary governance models.

During the sessions, Nina Shatberashvili, Director of the Sustainable Caucasus, presented the scope and mission of the Caucasus Network and discussed the key conservation biodiversity areas, eco-corridors, and protected areas in the Caucasus.

The agenda also included insights and recommendations from the science for the Carpathians Network, updates from the Carpathian Convention COP7 and future outlooks, as well as cooperation possibilities with the Scientific Network for the Caucasus Mountain Region
